Graduation Invitations With Paperless Post

For my high school graduation I sent out paper invitations. While it was fun to design them and have a physical photo to hang on my refrigerator at home, it was very expensive and time consuming. This year, for my college graduation announcements I decided to go with Paperless Post! They make designing and sending your invitations so much easier.

While the main reason I decided to go paperless for announcements this year was based off of time (addressing a hundred envelopes and licking them shut is not my ideal night off from work and studying lol), I also love that Paperless Post is so much cheaper than many of the cards I could be sending out! Graduation announcements really add up when you factor in design work, printing, and stamps. Not to mention the back and forth trips to the store to approve designs and pick up printed copies! Making my graduation announcements digital allows me to have my free nights remain free, and I have peace of mind that my environmental impact will be small (because everyone knows that once graduation occurs, all those announcements hanging on the fridge go immediately into the waste basket).

I initially thought that designing my own online card would take a long time, but Paperless Post has tons of already made up cards to choose from. Not only do they have graduation cards and fliers, they have templates for every event you could be hosting! My coworker and I picked out a black and gold graduation announcement, I filled in the information, added my guest list, and hit send! It took all of fifteen minutes, and that’s only because I couldn’t pick which card I wanted! With so many gorgeous designs, you’ll probably run into the same problem – and that’s a wonderful problem to have!

The above photo is what the card will look like when you’re setting it up online. You get to customize the text, colors, and backdrop. I like the original settings with black and gold caps, black and gold text, and the gold confetti as the backdrop. Paperless Post is also really good about telling you how much your card(s) will be while you’re creating them so that you can customize your card without having to get all the way to checkout to see how much it costs. Just click on the coins memo in the righthand corner of your creation screen to see how much each part of the card will cost. The more you want to customize, the more coins this will cost you, but that’s the same for every invitation and announcement – paperless or not.

You can also customize the envelope! I just love the inside of this one. How cute!

My favorite part about Paperless Post cards is the email you get…it feels just like a regular letter only digitized! Your guest’s name is written on the front of the envelope in pretty cursive (you can customize this font too! I like the cursive because it matches my handwriting). The envelope even has a stamp on it! You click on the link in the email and the envelope opens up in another browser with your card. If you scroll down, under the card has all your additional information. I added a link to mine so that people can watch my Commencement ceremony online. Other options include setting a location with directions and a map, a guest list, RSVP, adding a registry list. The best part? The invitation also works like a Facebook event wall where invited guests can leave comments and interact.

How are you designing your grad announcements?

Fun Spring Coffee Cups

Way back in the day (okay so it was only 2016, but it feels like a decade ago) I wrote this post on my favorite sassy sayings coffee cups. While my style has changed a bit since then, my dependence upon my morning cup of joe has not.

With spring right around the corner, I’m sure we’re going to wake up to more drizzle mornings and hopefully a few more flowers. These super cute mugs and cups would make great Easter presents (or a fun gift to put a smile on a friend’s face).

Warby Parker Resort Collection Release

Shot_13_Still-life_Group_019

It’s no secret that I wear glasses. I got my first pair in sixth grade, and since then I’ve learned that glasses, like makeup and hair, can subtly influence your overall image while also being an integral part of your personality.

I love the of the glasses from Warby Parker. A lot of their frames (with the prescription lenses) are under $100!

Shot_06_Couple_Eyeglasses_Cassady_MarbledWalnut_Archer_JetBlack_Alecia_Hamid_050

I am so excited to announce their newest collection, Resort! The Resort Collection mixes rich acetates with hints of metal inlays and glimmering metallics. The unique outlines, delicate textures, and pops of glossy metal give the glasses a luxurious, high end feel.

I’m a sucker for a good tortoiseshell, and these frames are my absolute favorite! You can shop the rest of the prescription eyeglasses on their website, which you can find by clicking here.

The sunglasses in the Resort Collection are all so different that I can’t pick a favorite. I want them all! The Cleo sunglasses, the first photo shown below, remind me of a classic 1950’s beachgoer. On the other hand, the Wyatt sunglasses are more NYC edgy-chic. The classic gold is subtle, giving the accents a “for your eyes only” feel, but striking enough to get everyone talking. Shop the rest of their sunglasses on their website by clicking here.

Target’s Hit the Target

I love Target. It is my happy place. I don’t always go to Target to window shop, but since coming to college wandering the aisles there seems easier and more accessible than anywhere else. Not to mention affordable.

Because it’s close to Christmas, I’ve been scouting all the options for potential gifts. I love people watching, as use that as a way to judge what styles are in fashion, what people love, and what colors are popular. I’m not usually the person that goes for the name brand stuff (except J. Crew…I’ll always love J. Crew), but a few items have recently caught my eye. And, fortunately, I found a few of those items on the racks at Target the other day.

Not exactly the same color, but personally I actually like the blue a lot better!

There are probably a lot more items from Target that are nearly identical to name brand clothes and accessories, I just haven’t seen them yet. Have you noticed any?

Back ATH It!

Junior year is really happening, y’all, and I can’t even begin to tell you how amazing this past week has been. I moved into my house on the 7th and started recruitment for Delta Gamma the very next day at 7 am! After that, it’s been a whirlwind.

Last year I did a post about my room in the Delta Gamma house with pictures of how I decorated. I didn’t make one this year because I’m still trying to unpack all my stuff. Let me know in the comments section below if you’d like another room decor post!

So back to recruitment. This year I recruited every single round. To say that I’m exhausted is an understatement. Not only do I love sharing the joy my sisters bring me year round, I love being able to goof off in between rounds and get to know all my sweet UGA DG’s even better. This year I had the most amazing bump group (mainly because I got to recruit with my little Rachel!).

Below is a photo of my pledge class from last year’s bid day. I can’t wait to meet all my new sisters on the lawn tomorrow night!

FB_IMG_1471461689385

Last night I did something very, very special. I volunteered with the Arch Society, as well as five other student orgs vital to the university, to help make freshman welcome a reality. The freshmen at the University of Georgia have the opportunity to walk into Stanford Stadium and take pictures on the field. They are welcomed by their orientation leaders, the Redcoat Marching Band, the SGA president, Kirby Smart the head football coach, and President Morehead. I passed out waters and cleaned up trash with my DG sister Stacy.

There’s definitely nothing like being back in Athens. Go Dawgs!

Top Anthro Faves (that are now on sale!!!)

Anthropologie is one of my all time favorite stores. I’d live in it if I were ever given the chance! I was beyond thrilled when one opened up in my hometown, and even more thrilled when people started posting “Anthro DIY” crafts on Pinterest. While I do love a good DIY outfit or home decor idea, nothing beats the real deal. The going gets even better when the real deal is actually a deal.

Anthropologie is notoriously expensive, but the year round sale section and %-off offers make things easier on the wallet. Here are my top pics from the winter sale section! meribel-cowl-pullover

anthro-cowl-neck-sweaterMeribel Cowl Pullover

I own this sweater and can definitely attest to it’s warmth! While a little itchy (it’s wool), the boxy fit and the cowl neck make it very comfortable. I like the shorter fit of the shirt (I’m barely 5’4″) because it hits me right at my waistline. The picture on the right is me, right before I bought the sweater!

This sweater was originally $128 and now it’s $69.95!

airmail-pencil-pouchAirmail Pencil Pouch

I love receiving snail mail, don’t you? You know what I also like? Fancy pencil pouches. Not only do I feel organized, I look chic while doing it.

And while you’re off buying your pencil pouch, take a look at these pens. Not on sale, but still a match made in heaven.

Originally $24, now $16.95

tasseled-agate-lariatTasseled Agate Lariat

While there are some pretty good DIY articles out there, not everyone can make flawless tassels. That’s why this one is up for grabs in the sale section of Athro!

Buddha beads were super popular last spring, but this should be your new go-to piece when looking for a long chunky necklace. Tassels are in again! And it doesn’t look like they’re going away any time soon. Plus the raw agate gives this piece a boho chic vibe.

The necklace was originally $68, now $39.95

velvet-tunic-dressVelvet Tunic Dress

Velvet is everywhere this season. From dresses to tanks to booties – even chokers! This dress can be paired with a leather jacket for a cute tough girl look or dressed up with chunky heels and gold accents for a more girly outfit. And the best part? It also comes in dark turquoise.

Something else that’s totally rad about this dress? It was originally $138 and is now $119.95

rehearsal-hoodieRehearsal Hoodie

The athleisure movement is my favorite, mainly because I can wear leggings and hoodies to class and somehow manage to look very en vogue rather than disheveled. This pick is great because of the crop and neutral colors. Grey is the perfect match for those days when you want to wear some crazy patterned leggings but don’t have a top to go with them and the crop top keeps the look from being slouchy. Just keep in mind that the top seems to run shorter in arm length than a normal hoodie!

Top was originally $88 but is now $49.95

Happy shopping!
